Hello and welcome to my webpage. My name is Leela, I’m a knitwear designer and former climate scientist. I design mostly brioche shawls, with occasional forays into other types of patterns.

Next thing on my to do list - write up this pattern. I’m thinking about called it the Bubble Wrap shawl, but I’m not sure if that would be confusing, wrap/shawl... what do you think? I was tagged by @deunynknits in this ten posts in ten days thing that’s been going around. Now, a post a day for ten days is a little more organized than I tend to be with social media, but I have been meaning to post some of my older designs, so I guess I’ll just do my own version - ten (or possibly more, since I have more than ten published designs) posts over a lot more than ten days. My stash acquisition tends to be a bit sporadic. I have periods where I’m happy with the not inconsiderable stash that I already have, and then one day I see some yarn that I just can’t resist and then after that some more, then all of a sudden I’ve had a little spending spree. I’m going to start doing more regular restrospective posts of older designs. I noticed that almost every time I post an old pattern there are a few people who seem to be surprised by the patterns’ existence, which just reminds me that (a) not everyone has been following me forever, (b) even if you have been following me forever that doesn’t mean you’ve seen all of my posts and (c) even if you have been following me forever and have seen every post there’s no guarantee you’d remember them all. I’m seeing this years advent kits popping up from dyers all over the place. I caved in and ordered one from local-to-me dyer @obsessionyarns so I’m now justifying my purchase after the fact by imagining a new mini skein wrap.
