If you prefer knitting from charts rather than written instructions, then you can familiarise yourself with the symbols for brk, brp and sl1yo as shown below. These are the most commonly used brioche symbols, popularised by Nancy Marchant. These charts are also found in the pdf of the instructions that you downloaded in the first section of the course.
In one colour brioche (Chart A above) the chart is read as usual, that is left to right for a WS row followed by right to left for a RS row.
In two colour brioche (Chart B above), since each row is worked twice there will be two WS rows, followed by two RS rows. So you read the chart left to right for the first pass of the WS row, then from left to right again for the second pass of the WS row, before moving on to the RS row and reading right to left. As in regular charts the position of the row labels along the sides of the chart indicates the starting position for reading that row.
In Chart B the syncopated stitches are highlighted in yellow and the increases and decreases are marked in red for ease of reading the chart.
