Two colour brioche

In two colour brioche each row is worked twice. First with one colour (in this pattern the contrast colour is worked first), then the stitches are slid back to the other end of the needles to be worked with the second colour (in this pattern the main colour is worked second).

Row 4 WS:

Row 4 WS CC: sl1wyib, (brk, sl1yo) x 8, brk, sl1wyib. Slide.

CC – contrast colour

MC – main colour

WS – wrong side

slwyib – slip with yarn in back

slwyif – slip with yarn in front

brp – brioche purl (purl the stitch and it’s yarn over together, as if they are one stitch)


Row 5 RS:

Repeat Rows 4 and 5 until the two colour brioche stitches start to become familiar. Then work Row 6 (which is the same as Row 4).
